Year 11

Students are studying OCR Twenty First Century Additional Science GCSE. The course consists of 9 modules split into 3 exams and examined at the end of the year. There is also a piece of coursework worth 25% of their total grade. They will study transport in cells, how the body grows and reproduces, how we learn and develop, structure of elements and compounds, chemical equations and calculations, what chemicals the Earth is made from, forces and calculations, electrical circuits and uses of radiation. As well as the scientific skills needed to analyse and evaluate data.

There is also a triple science option for year 11 students, this is good for those students who want to go on and study sciences at A level. It has 3 extra modules on top of the normal year 10 and year 11 modules.
